Mr. Shen Guo Qin

Shen Guo Qin used to be a Third Grade percussionist and yangqin performer with the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, where he served as its Deputy Leader then. He is a member of the Shanghai Musicians' Association.

He has previously studied yangqin under Zhou Hui and Ding Yan Yi and percussion from Professors Li Min Xiong and Xue Bao Lun. in 1984, he won the first prize at the First Jiangnan Chinese Orchestra Music Competition. In 1991, he won the second prize at the Shanghai Festival of Spring. He has performed in many places such as Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan. He is currently a percussionist in the Singapore Chinese Orchestra.

He is joined Hsinghai Arts Association Chinese Orchestra since 1999 and has been a very outstanding conductor. He is currently our Music Director.
